Janie earned a B.A. degree in Physical Education & Health from Cedarville University and taught preschool through high school in the United States and Germany. She was a Hospital Recreation Worker for the American Red Cross stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. working with wounded soldiers returning from Vietnam. As an Activities Director, she worked for the Department of Defense developing programs for active duty soldiers and children of military and civilian personnel living in Germany.
After her husband retired from the US Army, they moved to Vacaville, California, where she founded a travel agency for people with disabilities and played an integral role in starting several brain injury support groups. She taught “back to work” and “life skills” to adults with brain injuries with the California Department of Rehabilitation. She held administrative positions and trained personnel in a community integration program for developmentally disabled adults exhibiting extreme behaviors in the San Francisco Bay - Napa Valley - Sacramento areas.
She is a Life Coach studying under the highly acclaimed teachings and mentorship of Anthony Robbins alongside Cloe Madanes, who is an internationally regarded innovator in family therapy. Cloe is the author of six books that are classics in the field. Janie earned additional certifications from the Robbins-Madanes Center for Strategic Intervention in Marriage Education and Divorce Prevention, Breakthrough Specialist and Working with Women. Her basic coach certification was earned from Coach Training Alliance.
Janie resides in Fairborn, Ohio, home of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, with her husband of 43 years, Richard (First Sergeant, U.S. Army Retired) and their dog, Rudy. They are the proud parents of three children and three grandchildren.
